Melissa Fuller, Founder
Gatherwise products are the result of over twenty years of learning and discovery by esthetician and herbalist, Melissa Fuller. Melissa draws on her deep knowledge of plant medicine to expertly craft pure and potent products that naturally replenish your skin. She grows the majority of the ingredients in the Gatherwise garden, complementing them with mindfully foraged plants that grow locally in abundance. Melissa lovingly distills, renders and combines each product by hand to maximize the innate benefits of each plant. Her skin-to-bottle approach allows for the highest possible control over the quality of ingredients and methods of production. Gatherwise takes a holistic approach that not only views each ingredient as a part of a bigger vision, but also sees your skincare as one essential component in your overall care and well being.
Our Founders Story
Gatherwise founder Melissa Fuller grew up struggling with autoimmune issues that blemished her skin.
Unable to use mainstream skincare products without adverse reaction, Melissa struggled with frequent eczema and persistent psoriasis on her scalp, arms and legs. When doctors visits and steroid creams failed to work, Melissa realized she needed to make a change.
She gave up store-bought skin care products. Back then there were no natural product alternatives. After being gifted an herbalist book by a relative, Melissa began her skincare wellness journey grinding almonds in her parents coffee grinder to make her own face scrubs. This lead to simple experiments like putting clay and seaweed on her skin at the beach. Healing with plants was empowering — and it helped! Inspired to create products for people with sensitive skin, Melissa went on to become a licensed CIDESCO esthetician and attended herbalism school with a focus on skincare. Decades of study and experience culminated in Gatherwise, a pure plant skincare company that launched in 2018.
